Winter Fun in Missouri:
Last winter I had planned to buy a set of skiis to put on my cart to use in the winter. They can be purchased online, but I didn't get to it. Things just kept happening to get me side-tracked. So, I got the neighbor kids to come up for a little "winter fun." They had no clue what they were getting in to. Milkyway had a much easier time walking in the snow than I did. The snow was about twelve to eighteen inches deep. It wasn't bad if I didn't break through, but when I did it was not easy walking. He was not even breathing hard but I was about to drop. He took no coaxing...only guiding. At first it was a disaster hooking the sled to him. But, it went better than I thought it would! He was scared, of course, because it was something different: the sound of the sled on the snow made a strange noise and the trace lines kept touching his legs and ankles. But, true to form, after a few minutes it was as if he had been doing it all of his life. This year I will definitely have skiis on my cart!
Although Milkyway was no worse for the adventure, I worked too hard for a "middle aged" man!
